Welcome

Welcome to my blog, “My Girlfriend, T.V.”

I chose this name because about hundred years ago in 2016, three of my closest friends all went through the devastating transition from being single and available, to tragically partnered up and having to split their time with me. Suddenly, our conversations revolved around findings from their most recent archeological digs of a new human life, and how love really is like a rollercoaster (ammirite? Iwouldntknow. iveneverbeeninluv. butiwilloneday. hope). When it was my turn to share, I always ended up talking about whatever T.V. show was rolling around in my mind. My “friend” Hana joked that I was in a relationship with T.V. I laughed at first, to seem normal. But that joke wore on me, pushing me to the edge of a painfully well-oiled revolving door of truth. It smacked me over and over again with the realization that most of the drama in my life came from The Screen. Enough. I stepped in, went around, and out the other side to… acceptance: I’m in love with T.V.

In the next two to two-hundred posts, depending on my employment status, I’ll take you on a wordy journey through how T.V. has made me a better person.
